Our Story

Salvaged and Seamed's business logo - abstract flower circle with needle and thread interwoven with business name

At Salvaged and Seamed, we breathe new life into pre-loved fabrics, transforming them into handmade, one-of-a-kind clothing and accessories that tell their own unique stories. Based in the beautiful City of Kawartha Lakes, Ontario, Canada we're on a mission to combat textile waste and inspire a more sustainable approach to fashion, one stitch at a time.

Hi!

I’m Claudia, the environmental advocate and "sewist" (that’s my favourite word for the intersection of sewing + art!) behind Salvaged and Seamed.

My journey with a needle and thread started early - I actually took home first place at the Lindsay Fall Fair for a small project back in kindergarten! Since then, my path has been a blend of creative hands-on work and formal study. My time at Trent University and Fleming College focused on Environmental Resource Management and Communication, which gave me the tools to understand not just how we impact our planet, but how to talk about and build better solutions.

I started this shop in 2024 because I believe sustainability shouldn't feel like a sacrifice. By blending my background in environmental science with creative design, I transform forgotten, pre-loved fabrics into functional treasures. Every stitch is a conscious choice for the planet, and every design is a tribute to what we can save when we look a little closer.

Thank you for joining me on this creative, sustainable journey!
