At Salvaged and Seamed, we breathe new life into pre-loved fabrics, transforming them into handmade, one-of-a-kind clothing and accessories that tell their own unique stories. Hi!

I'm Claudia, the sewist (that's sewing + artist!) behind Salvaged and Seamed. This brand truly came together organically in 2024, born from a blend of two of my greatest passions: the joy of sewing and a deep commitment to caring for our planet.

Honestly, I've loved to sew and create for as long as I can remember. The needle and thread have always felt like an extension of my hands! In fact, my journey with textiles goes way back – to Kindergarten, believe it or not! I even won first place at the local fall fair for sewing a button onto a square of fabric. That early spark for crafting has only grown stronger over the years.

My passion for environmental protection also guided my choices for post-secondary education. Never straying too far from my hometown (and now my homebase) of Lindsay, Ontario, I completed my undergraduate degree at Trent University in Environmental Resource Studies and then attained a post-graduate certificate in Environmental Visual Communication through Fleming College. These studies deeply inform my approach to crafting, blending creativity with a conscious commitment to our planet, right here in the heart of the Kawartha Lakes.

At Salvaged and Seamed, every stitch is infused with purpose. My aim is to transform forgotten fabrics and materials into beautiful, functional, and sustainable pieces you'll cherish. When you choose a creation from Salvaged and Seamed, you're not just getting a unique, handmade item; you're supporting a passion for mindful consumption and a dedication to giving textiles a second life.

I'm so excited you're here and I can't wait to share what I make with you! And don't forget to follow @salvagedandseamed on Instagram and join me on my creative, and sustainable, journey!
